The popular Birkenstock Madrid has been given a chic update. As the name suggests, the Big Buckle version features a large and elegant pin buckle – a delightful eye-catcher on the otherwise understated leather strap.

This makes the sandal an exceptionally classic model. To create a natural look, nubuck leather with an oiled finish has been used and the sole has been lined with Nappa leather.

Please Note: Oiled leathers are designed to appear stressed and rustic looking. The leather can appear dryer(lighter) in patches where the oil has dispersed or darker where the oil has settled. When you bend the straps or move the leather the colour will change frequently showing up crackly as the oil disperses. Oiled leather is one of our favourite types of leather. Its oily waxed surface makes for a unique colour effect and develops a beautiful patina. The oily finish of Birkenstock natural leather products results in colour variation, making each and every pair unique.
