The Gizeh

The BIRKENSTOCK Gizeh is a stylish all-rounder: extremely versatile yet unbelievably comfortable. Its design and function have remained unchanged since it was introduced in 1983, and the classic thong sandal stands out for its timeless style.

Thanks to the buckle, the strap can be individually adjusted to the wearer’s feet. The anatomically shaped thong provides additional support for the toes and guides them back to their natural position.

Please Note:  Oiled leathers are designed to appear stressed and rustic looking. The leather can appear dryer(lighter) in patches where the oil has dispersed or darker where the oil has settled. When you bend the straps or move the leather the colour will change frequently showing up crackly as the oil disperses.  Oiled leather is one of our favourite types of leather. Its oily waxed surface makes for a unique colour effect and develops a beautiful patina. The oily finish of Birkenstock natural leather products results in colour variation, making each and every pair unique.

About the Fit:

The Gizeh in Leather offers a secure and comfortable fit, designed to move naturally with your foot thanks to its T-bar strap. Initially, you may find the toe-piece a bit firm, but rest assured it will soften within a day or two, allowing your Birkenstocks to adapt to the contours of your individual foot.

The leather upper may also require a brief break-in period, but with time it will become increasingly comfortable.

One unique feature of the Gizeh sandals is that they can curl up slightly in the toe area as they adapt to the way you walk. For this reason, it's important to ensure that your toes have enough room to spread out comfortably.

In terms of width, most people opt for the regular size. However, if you have particularly narrow feet, you may wish to consider a narrower fit. The Gizeh is a slim and secure style, designed to hold your foot firmly in place.

To prolong the lifespan of your Birkenstock sandals, we recommend avoiding water exposure and not leaving them in hot cars or direct sunlight.
