A proper fit is the key to getting the most out of your Birkenstocks. The footbed should feel supportive and snug, without causing discomfort. With repeated wear, Birkenstocks will soften and mould to the unique shape of your foot, but the length of the footbed will not change.

How Should Birkenstocks Fit?

Birkenstock offers their original footbed in two widths: Regular & Narrow.

Regular: Designed for average to wider feet.
Narrow: Designed for slimmer feet.

This ensures every foot shape has optimum support and comfort.

how to measure your foot

Measure the length of your foot by standing on a flat surface with full weight on your foot. Measure from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe.
Add 10mm to this measurement. This allows extra room for your foot to move.
Measure the width of your foot across the broadest point. Compare your foot width to the Birkenstock size chart to determine if you need Regular or Narrow.

How should bostons fit?

Boston clogs can feel snug at first, especially suede styles, but they soften and shape to your foot with wear.

If you’re between sizes or have a higher instep, size up.
Straps should feel supportive but not tight.
Check there’s approx. 5mm space at toes, heel, and under straps.

FIT CHECK

Toes: 5mm space between toes and edge.
Heel: 5mm space between heel and edge.
Straps: 5mm space between straps and foot (upper + lower).

Perfect Pair of Birkenstocks
I ruined my last pair of Boston's with an unexpected spill and couldn't find a replacement anywhere. Always out of stock. Of course, they're amazing!
