Julia Holter - Materia. LP
Only seven tracks long, Materia acts as a kind of companion LP or sequel to Something, Holter has realized not one but two distinct versions of the song, working in many modes here. Here Holter offers up her hallucinatory dream of drum machine, fretless bass, and clarinet, Holter’s voice spiraling through the ether alongside that of Jessika Kenney.
For fans of Joanna Newson, Fiona Apple & Aldous Harding
