Chanel Beads - Your Day Will Come. LP [Pink Vinyl 2026]
Since their debut in 2024 New York artist Shane Lavers aka Chanel Beads has felt shrouded in mystery. It's an odd manoeuvre to choose to name your second album the exact same name as your debut but this only feeds the swirling, hazy narrative he's conjured for Chanel Beads so far.
'Your Day Will Come' feels like awaking from a fever dream, unsure if any of these surreal, twisting moments actually happened or not. Chanel Beads was born from collages of lo-fi audio samples and organic instruments filtered to appear almost unrecognisable.
The musical makeup that blooms around the gritty darkness is what helps to anchor the record, pulling this dreamscape closer to the ground. Stirring violin's intertwine with Lavers’s tremendous ability to shift between a beautiful croon and heart wrenching scream seemingly at will, giving an injection of heart that elevates this album to something extra special.
Speaking of the album Lavers suggested that he wanted to emulate the tension created of sound travelling through the air, "I wanted this texture of steam coming out of a kettle, the biggest influence is hiss and air".
You can really feel the subtle invitation of space and restraint throughout, helping to prop up these opposing moments of grandiose maximalism and dirt with total balance. Chanel Beads has truly arrived here, elevating his vulnerable songwriting to the next level.
