'The Singer In My Band' is his most down to earth record to date, pushing aside the autotune, electronics and pop moments of his pervious work in favour of a more salt of the earth songwriting approach, oscillating between various different characters like Billy and Sarah, he cruises through their respective lives, pinpointing in on various moments in time.
